Burning Ordinance

Moore Twp Ordinance 1997-2 the "Burning Ordinance"
If you wish to have an uncontained burn in Moore Twp you must notify the Northampton County 911 Dispatch Center of your intent to burn within the Township so that they will notify the Moore Twp Fire Chief and the Moore Twp Police. Call 610-317-0808 before you burn and after the burn is complete. The 911 Center has the current burn prohibitions if any exist at the time of your burn.

• IT IS UNLAWFUL

• To have any fire on any streets, sidewalks, alleys or public grounds

• To have any fire within an unsafe distance of a building, property line or hazardous materials

• To allow a fire to burn unattended or fail to have proper fire control equipment available

• To burn in drought, high wind, extreme weather or fire ban conditions

• To start or maintain a fire between the hours of sun down and sun up

• To burn any construction debris, pressure treated lumber, manufacturing by-products, wastes or hazardous substances.

• IT IS LAWFUL
• To burn in an approved container from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm
• To have an attended recreational fire at any time but not to exceed four feet by four feet by four feet
