Tips For Parents
Establish family rules that make it clear that drug use will
not be tolerated. Educate yourself about drugs, so you can talk
informatively with your children and answer their questions. Spend
time with your children listening to their concerns and showing how
much you love and care for them.
Recognize that YOU are their most important role model.
Because peer pressure is a major factor in teen drug use, know your
children's friends. Talk with other parents. Try to establish
uniform rules that make access to drugs harder, such as curfew and
the amount of spending money they receive. If a problem exists, get
help! Don't say "Not my child!” Teach them about the many positive
alternatives to drug use.
KID CARD
The KID CARD program is a service provided
by the Moore
Twp Police Dept to the local businesses, schools and civic
organizations. At a Kid Card event a participating parent fills out
a card containing their child’s height, weight and other pertinent
information. Then the Moore
Twp Police Officer applies a fingerprint and photo of your child to
the card. The card is laminated and given to the parent for
safekeeping. Should your child become missing the card can be given
to the area police dept to assist in identifying and locating your
child. If you wish to schedule a Kid Card Event contact the
Moore Twp Police
Dept at 610-759-5077 or watch the COMMUNITY BULLETIN page for
upcoming events.
