CHIEF GARY WEST

Chief West has been a member of the Moore Twp Police Dept. since 1992 and served with the Bath Borough Police from 1988 – 1993. In 2004 Gary West was promoted to the first Sergeant of the Moore Twp Police Dept. On January 2007 Chief West was promoted to the Chief of the Moore Twp Police Dept by the Moore Twp Board of Supervisors.  Chief West has an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Lehigh County Community College. Additionally Chief West has been the Moore Twp Police Dept’s Accident Reconstructionist since 1996, the Commercial Motor Carrier Inspector since 1997 and the “Buckle Up PA” project coordinator for the Police Dept. Chief West has received additional training in Commercial Motor Vehicle & Motorcycle Accident Reconstruction, Crash Data collection system Training, Certified Weights and Measures Enforcement, Allentown Police Academy Criminal Investigation School, and Penn State Univ. POSIT School.

DEPUTY CHIEF JAMES CAVALLO

Deputy Chief Cavallo has been a member of the Moore Twp Police Dept since 1988. In 1993 James Cavallo was promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief. While serving the Moore Twp Police Dept Deputy Chief Cavallo has received training in Advanced Firearms instructor, Glock Armor School, Basic and Advanced Police Executive Leadership Training, FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development and Allentown Police Investigation School.
From 1978 – 1984 Deputy Chief Cavallo served in the U.S. Army Military Police Corp and attained the rank of Sergeant (E-5).

DETECTIVE RICK KNECHT

Detective Knecht has been a member of the Moore Twp Police Dept since 1985. Since 1993 Detective Knecht has been performing criminal investigations on a part-time basis from the normal patrol officer’s duties. Then in 2004 Rick Knecht was promoted as the Department’s first full-time Detective.  Detective Knecht has received additional training at the FBI Inter-County Detective School, Criminal Investigation School, Crime Scene / Evidence Collection, Drug Investigation, Arson Investigation, Internet Crimes, Interview and Interrogation School, Hostage Training, DUI Detection, Cold Case Investigation, Robbery/Burglary Investigation, Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigation
From 1979 to 1982 Detective Knecht served in the  U.S. Marine Corp Infantry Division and attained the rank of Corporal (E-4)

PATROLMAN DALE A. TRUSCOTT

Officer Truscott has been a member of the Moore Twp Police Dept since 1994 and prior to that served with the Bath Borough Police Dept from 1993 to 1995.  Officer Truscott is the Moore Twp Police Dept Firearms Instructor and Hostage Negotiator.  Officer Truscott has received training in Instructor of Handguns and shotguns, Instructor in Specialty Impact Munitions (Less-Lethal), Instructor in Pepper Spray Deployment and a Glock Armorer.

From 1989 to 1995 served in the U.S. Marine Corp Reserves as a Heavy Truck & Hummer Mechanic/Driver and attained the rank of Corporal (E-4)

PATROLMAN THOMAS D. ROBERTS

Officer Roberts has been a member of the Moore Twp Police Dept since 1999 and served with the Bushkill Twp Police Dept from 2000 to 2002. Officer Roberts has received training in Certified Weights and Measures Enforcement and is the Department’s second Accident Reconstructionist.
From 1994 to 2002 Officer Roberts served in the U.S. Army Military Police Corp and attained the rank of Specialist (E-4).

PATROLMAN CRYSTAL HAPPEL

Officer Happel has been a member of the Moore Twp Police Dept since 2004. In 2005 Officer Happel was hired as Moore Twp Police Dept first full-time female officer. Officer Happel has an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Northampton Community College.  Officer Happel is the Moore Twp Police Dept Property & Evidence Custodian.



The Moore Twp Police Dept maintains approx five to seven part-time officer to help provide the most efficient law enforcement to the areas served
